How to Perform a top swap with a 3.8 liter olds intrigue

&nbsp; I thought it would be an easy job, but absolutely not. &nbsp;I bought an oldsmobile intrigue for $300 with a nice body, but a bad head gasket. &nbsp;I had a m90 supercharger from a 1998 buick regal gs, and I always wanted to supercharge a 3.8 liter. &nbsp;The 1998 intrigue happens to have the same series 2 3.8 liter in it. &nbsp;Please read this before doing a top swap on one of these cars, and learn what you need. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp; First off, you need a pair of heads from a 1996 or newer L67 3.8 liter supercharged engine. &nbsp;They have the fuel injector holes in the head to make room for the supercharger. &nbsp;I got mine at a salvage yard for $50. &nbsp;Also you need a m90 supercharger and intake manifold from a grand prix gtp, riviera, buick gs, or bonneville. &nbsp;I recommend using the injectors from a supercharged car also because they give you a better chance of not detonating. &nbsp;You need a map sensor from a supercharged car because a normal map sensor reads vacuum and a supercharged one reads vacuum and boost. &nbsp;The pulley setup can also be tricky. &nbsp;You need 2 idlers, and one tensioner to run this bad boy. &nbsp;You can get them off of a supercharged car. &nbsp;They will bolt right on a series 2. &nbsp;If you want just one belt to run everything, go to www.zzperformance.com and they sell a kit for the top swap. &nbsp;One of the most important things you have to do is a new pcm, or pcm tune. &nbsp;You will detonate, and blow your motor if you dont. &nbsp;The best place to go for this is intense-racing.com . &nbsp;There is no place to get an aftermarket intrigue tune, or pcm. &nbsp;They first tried making it to a grand prix. &nbsp;It did not start with a key, even after the computer relearn. &nbsp;They had me send it back, then they made it as a 1998 regal gs, then after the relearn, it worked great! &nbsp;Please when you get a tune, the gs is like the intrigue, the grand prix is not. &nbsp;They have different bcms in them. &nbsp;The regal and regal gs are the same type of bcms. &nbsp;You have to be careful because you are supercharging a 10-1 compression car! &nbsp;Intense has the reputation, and the knowledge to get you through the process. &nbsp;These tips can be used on intrigues, monte carlos, regals, and grand prix as well. &nbsp;I have an amazon tool that can locate most parts you may need, and sometimes even the supercharger! &nbsp;Email me at elijah486@yahoo.com if you need any of these parts used. &nbsp;I can get them for really good prices!<img src="http://theblogbooster.com/pixel.gif" width="0" height="0" style="border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-width: initial; border-color: initial; " alt="" />
